Privacy, kept simple.

SmooshVid processes videos locally on your Mac. We don’t receive your videos or collect data from the app.

No accounts. No tracking.

The app has no accounts, advertising, analytics, or telemetry. It doesn’t upload videos, file contents, filenames, or usage information to us.

Files and permissions

You choose which videos to open and where to save the results. macOS may ask you to authorize a save folder. Folder permissions and your selected save destination are stored locally on your Mac.

During processing, the app makes temporary local copies. It cleans these up after completion, cancellation, or failure. Original videos are never overwritten or automatically deleted. Completed compressed copies remain in the folder you selected until you delete them.
